I went back to kempo class on Thursday. My gi fits (it's a miracle!) and I still remember some of the material I was learning before I got pregnant. I can't go back as often as I used to, but he's opened up the studio in the mornings for open workouts, so I can go in during the morning for reviews and working my strength back up for class.

But, boy, am I sore! Not as sore as I expected to be, but still sore.

Doesn't help that I was rearranging the bedroom yesterday, too. The place was driving me NUTS. It's horribly cluttered, covered in clothes, and I wasn't able to walk in there. It needed work STAT. It's still in progress, but I can see a positive outcome!

The other challenge I've had lately is not necessarily something everyone wants to read, so it's behind a cut.

Lastly, the laptop seems to be having issues. The backlight has been blinking out, and the computer turns itself off sometimes. I have to powercycle it to get it to come back on (that is, I have to take out the charger and pop out the battery). It's not had an easy life, so it's getting a little long in the tooth. But it's not a good time to need to buy a new laptop; especially not an Apple laptop. And I'm really not crazy about going to a Windows machine, even though I can get a discount on a Dell through Mary Kay. I don't know . . . I do know that I have to back this thing up fanatically for a while and somehow store all my bookmarks. I need to go through and write down all my passwords and logins, too.

Right now, though, I really ought to make some phone calls and go back to cleaning my room. It needs to be done, and I don't want someone else to do it, so I'm the one to do it. Tonight, I'm going to my parents' house so they can get some grandparent time and I can get a bath and some sleep. Hopefully that will help my state of mind . . .

Laterz!

This and That

Yesterday was kind of a long day, but it was a good day! We didn't really celebrate Valentine's Day, because we were gone all day and had Bible class at night, but it's been kind of like Valentine's Day since Sweetie got home. What's another day of being all lovey-dovey? ;) He got me a present, though. I've been wanting the clean, popular songs by Guns 'n' Roses (Sweet Child of Mine, Paradise City, Welcome to the Jungle, etc.), and he bought me the CD yesterday. :) Now I can listen to Sweet Child of Mine whenever I want! :D

Anyway, we started the day at my Kiwanis meeting, and then went to see my dad at work. I brought him coffee and a hug and kiss, and we got to chat for a little while. Then we went to drop off fish food for the salmon at one of the schools (how romantic, I know!) and headed out to the Tacoma Armory to sign paperwork for a job! Hopefully there will be no letdowns — we'll believe it when it happens for sure — but he will be working full time for the Guard. The commute is kind of long, but it's not as long as it would be if he had to go all the way out to Camp Murray. The Tacoma Armory is closer to the bridge.

I got to meet some people I've heard about a lot but haven't actually seen and hang out while Sweetie filled out paperwork. We were waiting for his sergeant to sign off on his paperwork, but she had disappeared somewhere, so we went to get some lunch. There are apparently a bunch of yummy restaurants around, but they hide very well. We finally found a little cafe that had opened up recently and served some delicious burgers. When we got back to the armory, the sergeant had left for lunch, but was supposed to be back soon. She finally got back, but we stuck around for a while, either waiting on her or waiting to see one of Sweetie's other Army friends who was coming in to sign paperwork, too. At any rate, we didn't get out of there till 4pm. We made it back home in just enough time for me to throw my gi in a bag, wolf down some food, and hightail it to class.

Sweetie is supposed to start work on Tuesday, we think, and it's going to be a very good situation! Nine hours a day, one of which can be a PT workout, with every other Monday off and full Army benefits. YaHOO!!! :D

Unfortunately, Sweetie's computer has died again, so updates here will be infrequent (not that they were all that frequent when I had the computer) until he starts work.

I am so scatterbrained lately . . . I can barely string two things together sometimes. I've got to find a way to quiet my mind and get focused. On anything. My husband is so patient with me. Sometimes I hardly deserve him . . .
